Early Days

I grew up surrounded by music. My mother was always playing soul and reggae. I was very obsessive with music — it always played a huge part in my life. My cousin was in a breakdancing crew, so I got exposed to hip-hop culture very early.

I started going to live hip-hop shows and felt like I needed to be part of it. I was gifted a pair of turntables on my 18th birthday by by then girlfriends father, and that’s where it began. I didn’t know much about the skills involved in DJ’ing — just that I wanted to scratch and blend records. Once I started, I couldn’t stop. I was always practicing, learning the craft.

First Crews & First Gigs

Knights of Boom was the first crew I joined. We were rough around the edges, but it was pure energy. That was when I started to do live shows — open mics, house parties, community centres. Every gig taught me something new. Eventually, I realised I wanted to make my own beats too.

perfecting the craft

Production came naturally. I started sampling vinyl, chopping breaks, layering sounds. That’s where Applied Science came in. Me and Pun Ra formed the group and dropped our first album in 2013. It got love on BBC Radio Wales and we’ve since supported names like Pharoahe Monch, Ugly Duckling and RA The Rugged Man.

Expanding the Circle

I’ve been lucky to work with artists across the globe — from the States to Europe. Wasp-18b is my sci-fi boom bap collab with Empuls (Virginia, USA). Mise en Garde brings together some of the finest from the UK underground. And Fire Team Alpha is a raw, experimental unit that stays true to the Boom Bap sound.

Still Evolving

Whether I’m spinning records, chopping samples, or working on new collabs, it’s all love. Hip-Hop’s the lens I see the world through — grounded in boom bap but influenced by everything from Prog Rock to classic Soul. I’m just here to make honest music, and share it with anyone who wants to listen.
